Wakie is a Meaningful Community
On Wakie we get to interact with real people, have real conversations, and make real connections. Through these connections, we form a community, and as a community, we must ensure that we always behave with kindness, consideration, and respect.
We realize the importance of building an interactive and close-knit community on Wakie and decided to come up with an idea of empowering the most dedicated and active community members to apply for being a mastermind.
Who is a mastermind?
Masterminds are friendly, interactive and dedicated community members doing their best to connect people with the help of diverse tools. Sometimes people cannot find a relevant person to talk to or someone who can really share a piece of advice in case a community member really needs that. Masterminds are those people who can make it happen. Let us look at the tools we have to provide wakies with relevant connections in our community:
Creating discussion topics
By making profound discussions with at least one question in the topic itself, we can connect people and enable them to find Wakie a more attractive place to stay. We have noticed that quite often short topics containing a brief information in the very beginning and a question in the very end can connect more people. It is up to your imagination to figure out a subject of a topic you are about to post, however, there are a few rules on the prohibited content on Wakie:
- Do not post topics insulting, abusing, or harassing other members, either directly or indirectly. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive language, creating negative topics about a specific member, expressing hate speech or aggression towards groups, trolling, demanding social media or personal information, or impersonating other members.
- Do not publish provocative posts which create arguments or a negative atmosphere.
- Avoid posting sexual or obscene content, or using Wakie to try to find sex partners. Wakie includes members 13 years and older, with a variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Do not post any content related to suggestions of attempting to scam community members or app administration as well as topics/comments on extremism, terrorism, propaganda, or fascism.
Tips on discussion topics
-
Mention of the irrelevant comments to be hidden. So you can avoid off-topic comments that can lead to a more productive conversation. By creating a topic, please do not forget to mention a sentence that can look that:
"P.S. Post relevant comments only. Off topic comments will be hidden" and hide off-topic comments that would finally kick the comment’s author out of the topic and not let them see this topic any more; - Be a leader of the discussion or at least an active contributor. By asking more elaborative questions to each interesting comment you can develop a good discussion and reveal potential of those Wakies taking part in the discussion. For example, if you saw a nice comment relevant to the topic, don't you forget to ask the topic's author an additional question.
- If you know a Wakie who can be interested in the topic you have posted, you can share the topic’s link with this person via DM. So the discussion will be more profound and exciting! For instance, I have posted a topic on bilingualism and I know that one of our Wakies is a polyglot and adores foreign languages. So I can share my topic's link with that person to invite him/her to my discussion and make it more engaging.
- Use Wakie Clubs to connect more relevant community members. Wakie has got a large number of thematic public clubs which can foster a better and faster communication. For example, you posted a topic about IT technologies, and you are aware of a club that is directly relevant to this topic. Feel free to inform a community member taking part in your discussion of this club and suggest him/her to join in.
Flashmobs, interviews, concerts and competitions organisation
By coming up with diverse ideas on the initiatives mentioned above, you can contribute to a better community members’ interaction. For instance, we have recently organised the first interview with Wakie Team members that engaged a large number of Wakies and Wakie Music Concert that was a fabulous festival of international songs sung by hundred of talented community members supported by Wakie Team members via a live stream!
Being a mastermind can help you reveal your organisational and leadership skills that can make a significant contribution to the way Wakies get connected during the events.
More information related to other tools will be available in case of being selected as a mastermind.
Unfortunately we temporarily do not take new masterminds
